Geography
At Hornbeam, geography involves exploring the relationship and interactions between people and the environments in which they live and depend on. Geography helps to prepare them for life in the 21st century with all of its currently unknown possibilities. We seek to develop young geographers who are able to make links and connections between the natural world and human activity. We want to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for the world, to draw comparisons and to ask questions.
Geography is separated in to three main areas: locational knowledge, human and physical features and skills and fieldwork. Each year group has at least one geography based topic and will explore a country or continent in detail.
