Year 6 enjoyed a day in the woodland area to celebrate their topic all about Scott of the Antarctic. They rescued injured casualties, sent messages using semaphore flags, filtered dirty water into clean water and then ate a tasty stew that they had cooked the previous day.

Prickly visitors to Year 2 Delighted to welcome Ash Hedgehog rescue to talk to the children in year 2. The children were thrilled to meet 3 rescued hoglets. Thank you to the families for the donations of food for the rescue centre, they have been gratefully received. Well done Year 2.

Commonwealth Gold Medallist and Olympic Swimmer Chris Cook visited the school again in the lead up to this years games in Rio. Chris led a whole school assembly where he talked to the children about goal setting and being ambitious. He then worked with different classes and groups of children helping them boost their confidence and develop leadership skills.

Olympic and Commonwealth Swimmer Chris Cook visited the school and gave an assembly, showing the children his gold medal from the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. Year 1 were also lucky to get some tips for their first swimming lesson of the year.
