The annual swimming gala of Deal schools took place today. With Hornbeam coming first!

Chris Cook Visit February 2016 (14 images)

Commonwealth Gold Medallist and Olympic Swimmer Chris Cook visited the school again in the lead up to this years games in Rio. Chris led a whole school assembly where he talked to the children about goal setting and being ambitious. He then worked with different classes and groups of children helping them boost their confidence and develop leadership skills.

Chris Cook visits Hornbeam 2015 (4 images)

Olympic and Commonwealth Swimmer Chris Cook visited the school and gave an assembly, showing the children his gold medal from the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. Year 1 were also lucky to get some tips for their first swimming lesson of the year.
