Year 6 Betteshanger Mining Trip
As part of our class topic on mining, we have arranged for the children to visit Betteshanger Country Park on Tuesday 3rd June.
The day will consist of a number of activities that will help the children understand what life was like for miners in Deal. This will include a tour of the museum, meet a miner who will talk them trough what a day in the life of a miner was like, enjoy a dress up drama and role play workshop, along with various art and craft activities.
The cost of this trip is included in the Year 6 events.
Date – Tuesday 3rd June
Drop off between 8.45am/9am
Collect at 2.45pm
Please supply a packed lunch and plenty of water. (If eligible for Free school meals a lunch can be provided, please advise the school)
Clothing - suitable for outdoor learning, to include a hat, As it may be sunny, please apply sun cream in the morning.
No spending money is required.
This trip will be the hook for our mining topic. If you have any artefacts or anecdotes about mining in Deal we would love to see them and hear them.
