Year 6 DEALT Transition Day

We are writing to you again regarding the two additional Year 6 to 7 DEALT transition days that your child will be involved with during Term 6.

As you are already aware the two additional days are:

Tuesday 23rd June

Tuesday 7th July

Your child will also be having the official Kent Transition Day on Thursday 2nd July. The secondary schools will contact you directly regarding arrangements for that day.

The venues for these two DEALT Transition Days are:

• Deal Parochial School will host all pupils going to both the Boys and Girls Dover Grammar Schools
• Sandown School will host all pupils going to Sir Roger Manwoods School
• Hornbeam Primary School will host all pupils going to Sandwich Technology School (Hornbeam on 23rd June and Sandwich Secondary on 7th July)
• Kingsdown & Ringwould Primary School will host all pupils going to St Edmunds Secondary School and any other schools
• Goodwin Academy will host all pupils going to Goodwin Academy

We ask that you drop your child at the host school at 9.30am and collect at 2.30pm Please ensure that your child has a packed lunch for each day and that they are in school PE kit. Could you ensure that if your child has a medical needs that they take medicines with them to their host school (asthma pumps/epipens etc).

Staff from the secondary schools will be working alongside the Year 6 teachers at each venue.

We are extremely thrilled to be able to provide additional days to ensure that the transition to secondary school is successful and exciting for our Year 6 pupils.
